Back on Parnate since Friday, and hoping for the best. It’s really been the only med that’s been able to bring me out of suicidal thoughts, excepting Abilify, which I don’t want to be on because of weight gain. We’ll see how it goes.

I honestly use this website to keep track of medication… mainly missed meds. It helps with happiness too! If you want

That trancylpromine is heavy shit. They hardly ever use MAOIs these days as you must know. I hope it helps you.
I’m in bipolar depression and dreading telling my doctor about it. I’m currently only prescribed risperidone for mania but the mania has all gone leaving me feeling dire.
I don’t want a mood stabilizer, I want my mania back. Maybe an antidepressant would help but they tend to make me hyper, so the dr probably wouldn’t want to give one. All the best with your Parnate and I hope it helps.
I’ve heard mixed things about Parnate. Be careful!

Be careful of Parnate, dear.
Aside from taking medications, why don’t you give a try at counselling ? Talking to other people has helped me alleviate my own burdens somehow.
wishing you all the best.
Think positive always and not negative.. take care of yourself.
Parnate (Pranylcypromine) is an antidepressant drug which action is to inhibit monoamine oxidase (MAO). The indication is for the treatment of major depressive disorder. But be careful when using Parnate. The client as well as the health care provider must be cautious in taking or medicating this drug because of its harmful effect when taken with tyramine-rich foods such as cheese and alcoholic beverages. These foods should be restricted to prevent adverse reaction which is hypertensive crisis.
Parnate is a one of the most recommended MAOI by physicians. It is really effective and trusted. But, you have to take consideration in taking this drug. Avoiding aged and process food is the most recommended tips to avoid unwanted drug interaction.
